NAMI Walk 2009

The Metro Boston Recovery Learning Community (MBRLC) NAMI Walks team has been formed. By walking for the MBRLC walk team, a percentage of money you raise will go directly to NAMI Greater Boston Consumer/Affiliate Advocacy Network, to support our activities as described below.

To support me as a walker personally

More information:

Thanks for considering walking for the Metro Boston Recovery Learning Community in support of NAMI Greater Boston Consumer Affiliate/Advocacy Network [NAMI GB CAN].

NAMI GB CAN is designed to be the most consumer-friendly affiliate of NAMI-MASS. We hope whatever team you join will choose to walk on behalf of NAMI GB CAN. We use our walk money support our outreach and development coordinator, provide computers and training for consumers, grow our education and advocacy efforts, providing In Our Own Voice anti-stigma presentations and supporting NAMI-CARE and NAMI Connection support groups.

The MBRLC's core partners are Boston Medical Center, Vinfen, Bay Cove, North Suffolk, NAMI-MASS and the Cole Center at McLean Hospital.

We will be sharing information tables with many peer-run organizations at the walk. You don't have to actually walk, you can join us at the information tables, volunteer in many different capacities or be a "virtual" walker and raise money without attending the event. If you are interested in having a walk brochure sent to you by snail mail, please email me.

If you want to learn more about how the walk works, you can also attend the free NAMI Walks Kickoff Luncheon on March 18th, 2009 from 11am-1pm at Lombardo's at the intersection of Routes 128/93 and Route 28 in Randolph. To RSVP for this event, call 781-938-4048 or email:

I look forward to seeing you at the walk!
