Making All The Difference

A recovery learning center run entirely by and for persons with lived experience of psychiatric conditions to promote and support their educational and employment goals

Vinfen’s Cambridge/Somerville Recovery Learning Center’s (CSRLC’s) mission is to promote, support, and empower people to go back to school or work. It is a peer-to-peer recovery and support program that instills and fosters hope and resilience for all members. CSRLC, funded by the Department of Mental Health, is a partner of the MetroBoston Recovery Learning Community, where people in Boston with lived experience of psychiatric conditions join together to promote their recovery.

CSRLC is open to any person in recovery with a lived experience of a psychiatric condition.

Or take the T to Lechmere (green line)
CSRLC is accessible by # 69 bus from either of the above T stops. (Windsor stop)

By car: CSRLC is several blocks down from Cambridge Hospital.

Cambridge/Somerville Recovery Learning Center (CSRLC) offers many peer-run services to support education and employment goals:

GED preparation and support classes, study groups, one-to-one tutoring on-site Computer Connection groups/trainings to improve basic computer skills as you prepare essays, resumes, and more

School/Work Related Support and Share groups to strengthen peer-to-peer support for those looking for educational programs or jobs
Volunteer opportunities to provide experience in your chosen field

Learn to Manage Your Money groups to become better informed about budgets and benefits
Variety of peer-run support groups, such as NAMI groups, health and wellness groups, and manage your stress/yoga classes

CSRLC provides access to great resources:

Drop-in hours for 1:1 support in school, work, or life issues
Drop-in hours for 1:1 support and feedback on resumes or prepare for interviews
Access to a phone to make calls
Access to computers to learn computer skills, practice essay writing, resume building, etc.
Access to educational and employment resources and information
Access to wellness, recovery, and mental health resources
