In Our Own Voice [PDF]
- A presentation given by NAMI-MASS consumers for a range of audiences about living with a mental illness
- A pair of speakers will talk about various stages of recovery: dark days, acceptance, treatment, coping skills & successes and hopes & dreams
- An 18 minute video will be shown in segments
Speaker's Bureau [PDF]
- A speaker will come to your location and talk about mental health
- The Boston Resource Center can supply speakers on various topics of mental health including: recovery, consumer empowerment, depression and bipolar disorder
NAMI Greater Boston CAN Consumer Affiliate/Advocacy Network
- A consumer-friendly affiliate which advocates for issues that matter!
- We have a monthly business meeting, social activities and an active e-newsletter
- NAMI GB CAN offers additional support groups, helps to fight discrimination and stigma
and sponsors In Our Own Voice, which trains peers to be paid to do recovery presentations
in the community.
- NAMI GB CAN also supports legislation and systemic activities designed
to improve the quality of life for those affected by mental illness.
