NAMI Greater Boston CAN is a grassroots organization primarily consisting of mental health consumers and is an affiliate of NAMI-MASS (National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts).
We are dedicated to the elimination of the suffering caused by mental illness, and of the stigma and prejudice suffered by those diagnosed with a mental illness.
We aim to provide support, education and advocacy for and by people in recovery from a mental illness and transformation of the current mental health system to be person centered and recovery oriented.
We believe that as the "Nation's Voice on Mental Illness," NAMI must include the voices of mental health consumers and its voice must be consumer-centered and recovery-oriented.
